About This Project
Recaning a seat using sheet cane, appears easier than hand weaving a traditional seat. However the most tricky bit is removing the cane and the old bead that is glued in, without damaging the chair.
I use a drill to make some holes, then a steam kettle, then very carefully using a hammer and a spline chisel to lift out the bead.
