Lovely well loved nursing chair, the lady had used it whilst nursing her children, it was a lovely gift from her mother in law.
The seat was recaned with 1.8mm and 2.8mm cane and 4mm beading,

This lovely Chair, collected today, very heavy and recently been upholstered, making it difficult to see and feed the cane in and out on the underside of the arms and back. I used ratchet tension straps to hold the seat down whilst working.

Wonderful Antique American rocking chair. For an absolutely sweet lady who emigrated from America 50 years ago. The chair was her grandmothers.

Bergère chair part 2, blind caning is a very lengthy slow process each, each piece of cane needs to be measured and glued and then dried before starting the next weave....
